It sounds good to hear that, Google drive supports hosting of static websites. But some times you will nervous about Google Drive website hosting. Because there are some restrictions to use this service.
1) You can't host Dynamic websites within Google Drive. It will not support the use of server side scripting languages like PHP, ASP etc.
2) If you are using any external files to your website, like a JavaScript library or a web font hosted elsewhere, link to the secure version of that file (if possible). Google Drive sites redirect to HTTPS, and any insecure links may shows ‘security warnings’ on the website. So, be sure to use secure sources of JavaScript files and web fonts.
3) You must have an index.html file within your website. Otherwise, the visitor will not be able to view your website. Instead they will get a list of files and folders in your website.
4) Google Drive will not allow you to create a custom domain for your website. Because, Google Drive will not allow you to create any DNS values. :-(
